- What led you to acting and why film?Well, I would say that I didn’t really have a choice… acting is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do! As far back as I can remember, I loved to entertain my family and friends. I even had my own variety show with my childhood best friend called “The Xan & Brittany Show” that we made our parents videotape! I saw Jurassic Park when I was 3 and knew that I had to work in film. Film just felt so huge and inspiring. You can make anything possible with film (and a good budget haha!). I went to college and actually got my degree in film instead of theater because I loved my film history classes so much. I feel really lucky that I have parents who shared their love and appreciation of movies with me from such a young age!
- What actors inspire you? This question is always so hard for me because I look up to so many actors! Emma Stone is a favorite of mine because she feels so authentic in every role. A new favorite of mine is Alicia Vikander! I’ve seen her 3 most recent projects and she blows me away. I love Daniel Day-Lewis and Leonardo DiCaprio because of their commitments to the characters, they are truly fearless.
- Why did you decide to do The 5 Year? The Last Beautiful Girl was my first time working with Twitchy Dolphin. I had a smaller role so I wasn’t around for a lot of filming, but the time I spent working with this group of people was really enjoyable! I was honored to be asked to be part of The 5 Year. The script is written so well, even from the first draft. It’s been really exciting to have a chance to really get to know my character, contribute to her growth and then ultimately bring her to life! James Christopher has come up with really fun and unique ways to get all the actors involved with this project and I don’t think a lot of jobs allow for that much creative input.
