Emily Joseph came to Twitchy Dolphin as a production assistant in 2014. She was wide eyed, enthusiastic and more than willing to dive in. Any independent filmmaker will tell you just how rare and invaluable this is. You want and need people who are just willing to jump in. All the while, Emily was learning, asking questions about the story, where to put the camera. She had a plan.
In 2015, she took a big leap and ended up shooting our film The Last Beautiful Girl. She brought great perspective behind the camera and was a great counterpoint to my own vision, both supporting it and seeing a new side of things. Immediately, I knew she would have to produce and shoot The 5 Year.
